Ebenyo expresses hope and determination to secure a spot in the Kenyan team for the upcoming World Championships in Budapest.

With the highly anticipated Athletics Kenya (AK) trials just days away, Daniel Ebenyo is gearing up to secure a spot on the team that will represent Kenya in the upcoming World Championships.

The two-day event, scheduled for July 7th and 8th at Nyayo National Stadium, will be a crucial platform for athletes vying for the opportunity to fly the Kenyan flag in Budapest, Hungary from August 19th to 27th.

Ebenyo, who has already achieved qualifying times for both the 5000m and 10,000m events, has expressed his determination to make the team and return with a coveted medal.

“I hope to make the team for the World Championships. And this time I want to come back with a medal. With good preparation and great teamwork, I am hopeful the gold medal will go to Kenya this time. When one (Kenyan) wins, it is a victory for all of us,” said Ebenyo in an interview with World Athletics.

The selection process at the trials will be based on the first two athletes to cross the finish line, provided they have met the World Athletics Entry Standards.

Athletes who wish to compete in multiple events will be allowed to do so, but the decision to double up at the world championships will be at the discretion of the selection panel.

The AK trials promise to be a showcase of Kenya's exceptional talent in athletics, and the nation eagerly awaits the emergence of new stars who will join the ranks of the renowned Kenyan athletes.

The selection of the third athlete, where necessary, will be subject to the decision of the selection panel, adding an element of suspense to the event.
