American sprinter Masai Russell has shared a cryptic message that has attracted Noah Lyles' attention.

Masai Russell shared the cryptic message in a tweet on her X page that has since prompted 100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles to repost.

"People be trynna find any reason to not like you when you a good person," shared Russell in a tweet through her X account.

Russell whose season ended with a shock defeat at the Athlos 2024 has received both praise and criticism after the women-only event.

The Olympic champion settled for third place after a poor start to the race, allowing Diamond League champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and American sprinter Alaysha Johnson to finish ahead of her.

Russel came out after the race to explain her controversial start during the hurdle 100m race at the inaugural Athlos event protesting the result.

The Olympic champion argued that the race kicked-off with a false start, hence the 'real' winner wasn't awarded.

Her comments attracted some criticism and praise for the athlete.

100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles has similarly had his fair share of 'haters' around in America and around the globe.

Lyles divides opinion with some loving his over-the-top antics during and or before races while some criticize the sprinter for it.

But perhaps what has made some people to hate on Lyles is his previous comment discrediting NBA basketball teams as World Champions because they don't compete with other Nations.

Lyles' sentiment incurred the wrath of NBA fans who rubbished the sprinter's comments.

“You know what hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have ‘world champion’ on their head. World champion of what? The United States?" expressed Lyles in August of 2023 as per Los Angeles Times.

The comment attracted criticism from NBA fans with some taking offense with Lyles.

The criticism intensified during the 2024 Paris Olympics with some rooting for the American sprinter to lose in his 100m and 200m races.

Lyles did however win the men's 100 final and securing a podium finish in the 200m final with a third place finish.
