Masai Russell has sent a stark warning to Tobi Amusan as she revealed the next biggest goal she wants to achieve after her Olympic gold medal.
Olympic 100m hurdles champion Masai Russell has hinted at her next major target following her dominant exploits at the Paris Olympic Games, and it’s a strong message to Nigerian star Tobi Amusan.
Masai Russell revealed that one of the other achievements she is targeting will be world record as is greater than the Olympic gold medal.
The world record currently stands at 12.12 seconds and it was set by Tobi Amusan at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon where she claimed the win.

Masai Russell is the fifth-fastest woman in the world, thanks to her 12.25 seconds she clocked to win US Olympic trials.
Answering questions from fans on her Instagram stories, the American hurdler did not give a timeline of when she plans to execute her goal but hinted that it might be soon, referencing to the lyrics of a song.
One fan asked her: “Do you think there’s anything bigger to achieve than an Olympic gold?” In reply, Russell said: “The world record.”
She added that the LA 2028 Olympic Games will not be her last since she wants to compete in three Olympic Games. “I’m hoping to go to three Olympics so that would be 2032.”
Replying on the timeline she has to break the world record, Russell said: “Whatever the song said- ‘The type to get rocked up, time will only tell, the moral of the story…’”
Advising the young athletes who are still in college and looking to make the Olympic Games team in the near future. Russell is a real testimony of hard work pays from being an underdog to winning an Olympic gold medal.
