Mary Moraa humorously plans to buy a yacht despite Kisii, her hometown, lacking any large bodies of water.

Fresh from shattering the 600m world record Mary Moraa seems to have set her sights on a new challenge: finding a marina in her hometown of Kisii.

The Olympic 800m bronze medalist, who clocked an astonishing 1:21.63 in Berlin on Sunday, might have raced past the competition but now faces an even bigger hurdle—locating a body of water in landlocked Kisii for her latest extravagant purchase.

In a twist that might baffle the geographically gifted Moraa revealed a peculiar pre-race shopping spree.

"I'm looking for a yacht to buy here overseas... but back home in Kisii, we don't have a lake or sea 🤣🤣🤣," she posted on Facebook, translated from Kiswahili, sparking a wave of amused and confused reactions across social media.

Fans are left wondering if Moraa's next record attempt will involve inventing waterways in Kisii or perhaps more practically turning her new yacht into a rather oversized flower pot.

The Kisii region, known for its lush landscapes and rolling hills, is notably missing one key feature for a yacht owner: a body of water large enough to accommodate anything larger than a fishing boat.

This geographical hiccup, however, has not dampened Moraa's spirits—or her humor.

Her fans are left chuckling and slightly puzzled as they try to picture a luxury yacht cruising through the green tea farms of Kisii.

Some of her fans from Kisii are already buzzing with suggestions and ideas.

"Maybe she plans to convert it into a high-altitude training center," one fan posted.

"She can anchor it on land and train at altitude—innovative, right?"

Another local suggested setting it up as a tourist attraction: "The Kisii Yacht Experience—see it to believe it!"

Moraa’s adventures off the track have become almost as captivating as her performances on it.

Known for her vibrant and rhythmic celebrations the 'Dancing Queen' of athletics might just turn her yacht into the newest dance floor.

"If there's no water, we dance," she could possibly declare at her yacht-warming party turning the deck into a disco under the stars—or perhaps under the Kisii sun.
