'Paid to prop him up?' – Noah Lyles supports fiancée Junelle Bromfield amid claims about her role in 'Sprint'
Noah Lyles has defended fiancée Junelle Bromfield against online criticism showcasing their bond amidst controversy over Netflix's Sprint.
“Well, trackwise we have the World Championships in September next year and it’s in Tokyo…first of all I pray we make it through trials and then we make it to that race,” Athing Mu said on the Jinger & Jeremy Vuolo podcast.
“I feel like it’s going to be a circle moment for me because that’s basically where I started and then I had some highs and lows.”
This comes after a disastrous 2024 season where she failed to make the cut to the American Olympic team after falling at the US Olympic trials. She suffered an injury earlier this season and was forced to begin her season late.
Athing Mu finished third in the heats and then proceeded to win her semifinal. However, the unfortunate happened in the final where she fell and ended up finishing ninth, missing out on a slot in the team and a chance to defend her title.
The two-time Olympic champion then went on to compete at the Holloway Pro Classic where she finished fifth. She disclosed that after heading to Europe for training, she had another injury and was forced to end her season there.
As she was recovering from the injury, Athing Mu disclosed that there has been a lot of inner work done when it comes to her mindset and her profession. She is now ready to strike again and has hopes to impress her fans next season.
