Mary Moraa is inspiring young athletes during her off-season as she prepares for a strong 2025 comeback, following an impressive 2024 season with multiple wins and podium finishes.

Mary Moraa is spending her off-season inspiring the next generation of runners as she looks to make a strong comeback in the 2025 season.

The reigning world 800 champion spent her Saturday afternoon with kids at the Woodlands Star International School in Limuru, teaching them the basics of being a great sportsperson. She also participated in their tree-planting session.

Mary Moraa shared a series of photos on her Facebook page, expressing her joy and detailing her activities with the pupils.

“I had a lively, interactive and informative sports session with pupils, teachers and staff of Woodlands Star International School, Brackenhurst, Limuru. Crowned it with tree planting session,” Mary Moraa said.

After closing her season, Moraa also went to inspire students at her former school, Ibacho High School. She shared a post on her Facebook page, taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she reconnected with where it all began and shared lovely moments with the teachers and students.

"Quite nostalgic moments, beautiful memories when I visited Ibacho High School where I studied form one and two. It was heartwarming meeting the school's Principal, Douglas Moroti, and teachers besides interacting with the students," Mary Moraa shared in a post on her Facebook page a while back.

Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Games champion continues to shine on and off the track and the 2024 season has been one of the books for her.

She opened her season with a win in the women’s 400m at the third Athletics Kenya weekend meeting before heading to the trials for the African Games where she also claimed top honours.

Mary Moraa then won the 400m title at the African Games before anchoring the 4x400m mixed relay team to a bronze medal. She competed at the Trials for World Athletics Relays Championships and later on went to claim top honours at the Kip Keino Classic.

She won a series of races after that and went on to settle for second places at the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix in the 400m and the Prefontaine Classic. Mary Moraa finished second at the Kenyan Olympic trials and then went on to round up the podium at the Olympic Games.
