Moraa has been unbeaten in the 800m this season and she will be looking to maintain the consistency.

Kisii Express Mary Moraa is not resting on her laurels as she eyes more glory at the Diamond League Meeting in Brussels, Belgium on Friday, September 8.

Moraa will be hoping to extend her hot streak when she heads to Belgium. She has been unbeaten in the 800m this season and a win in Brussels will just prove that she might be the greatest 800m runner in the world this season.

The World 800m champion opened her track season in the 800m at the Kip Keino Classic where she won in flying colours before heading to the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat, Morocco where she also placed the stadium on a standstill with her dominant win.

The 23-year-old proceeded to the National Championships and stamped authority when she retained her national title.

She then competed at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, and won and then extended her hot streak to the Meeting in Chorzow, Poland.

Her World Championships outing was blemish-free since she won in her Heat, semifinal and then extended the winning streak to the final.

She beat Olympic champion Athing Mu to third place as Great Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson finished second in the tight race. With her win at the World Championships, she became the third Kenyan woman to bag a title in the 800m on the stage.

Others are Janeth Jepkosgei who bagged the title in 2007 and Eunice Sum who won it in 2013. As Moraa heads to Brussels, all eyes will be on her to deliver.

Also, as the Diamond League Final Trophy defending champion, she will be expected to grace the final in Eugene, USA, and also bring something good back home.

The start lists for the Brussels meeting are yet to be released and so Moraa is yet to know her opponents.
