Moraa, Wanyonyi and Kipyegon are among the many athletes that will be taking part in the trials for the upcoming March African Games in Ghana
World 800m champion Mary Moraa, 1500m women icon Faith Kipyegon as well as reigning World Athletics rising star holders Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Faith Cherotich are among the athletes that will be taking part in the trials for the upcoming African Games.
The games will take place in Accra, Ghana from 19th to 23rd March 2024. .
They have been named as part of the final list of athletes invited to take part in the Athletics Kenya trials for the games on Tuesday, 5th and Wednesday 6th March 2024, at The Nyayo National Stadium.

ATHLETICS Kelvin Kiptum: Eldoret comes to a standstill as fans pay last respects to departed marathon great
Business came to a halt in the ‘City of Champions’ Eldoret when thousands of fans gathered in the streets to pay their last respects to world marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum.
Moraa will be trying in both the 400 and 800m races, with Wanyonyi trying his luck in the 800m category.
Kipyegon will be doing both the 1500 and 5000m, events she holds the world records in, while Cherotich will be trying out in the steeplechase event.
Sprinters Mark Otieno and Tyson Juma will also be trying out in the 100 meters, while former 3000m steeplechase world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech will be trying out in both the steeplechase and 5000m categories.

All athletes will be required to collect their running numbers in PERSON on Monday 4th March 2024 at The Nyayo Stadium starting from 9am to 6pm.
Any athlete who fails to collect their running numbers on the date indicated above will NOT be allowed to compete.
The selection criteria for the African Games team will be based on the quota for athletics and will be announced in due course.
