Marco Arop is in awe of Emmanuel Wanyonyi's exploits as he predicted when David Rudisha's world record might be broken.

Reigning world 800m champion Marco Arop is in awe of Emmanuel Wanyonyi following his dominant performance this season.

Wanyonyi has been in great shape, winning the 800m at the Paris Olympic Games and running crazy times to threaten David Rudisha’s world record.

The Kenyan sensation clocked a stunning 1:41.11 at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne, becoming the second-fastest man in the 800m behind Rudisha who clocked 1:40.91 at the 2012 London Olympic Games. The time is equivalent to what Wilson Kipketer ran in Denmark in 1997.

Fans all over the world are surprised by his dominance with Arop noting that it is always incredible racing with the young Kenyan. He explained that Wanyonyi being only 20 years old, has a long way to go and will bless the sport immensely.

“He is incredible…I have to give a lot of credit to him and his team, for having done a great job. He is very young, so he’s going to have so many years at this level and I’m excited to race with him in the future," Arop told CNN journalist Larry Madowo

"We have plenty more years to come, I think, we will all be under the world record soon. It’s going to be exciting for the 800m with him around."

In Brussels, Wanyonyi was also on fire as he claimed the trophy for the second time in a row. He clocked an incredible 1:42.70 to cross the finish line ahead of Djamel Sedjati and Arop.

Prior to the meeting in Brussels, the reigning Olympic champion had raced at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia where he finished second behind Arop, clocking 1:43.23 to finish the race.

Next season will also promise to be exciting, with Arop hoping to defend his title and Wanyonyi out to stop him from achieving the feat without ruling out Sedjati who has also been nothing short of stunning.
