Letsile Tebogo is gearing up for the 2025 season where he faces off some of his arch rivals including Noah Lyles, Kenny Bednarek and Co.

Africa’s treasure Letsile Tebogo is back to training and he is not taking anything lightly as he eyes continuity of his great form this season.

The reigning Olympic 200m champion has seemingly fired warnings to his rivals including but not limited to Noah Lyles, Courtney Lindsey, Christian Coleman, and Kenny Bednarek.

The 2024 season was nothing short of amazing for the 21-year-old and if he manages to replicate what he did last season this season, then he will have achieved a great milestone and surpassed the achievements of many top sprinters.

In a recent post on his X (Twitter) handle, Tebogo urged his fans and other athletes to always show up despite how they feel or even if they are having a bad day.

He is a live example since when he lost his mother, Seratiwa Tebogo, many expected him to end the season earlier in 2024 but he continued showing up. To everyone’s surprise, 2024 turned out to be one of the best seasons for Tebogo.

The Motswana sprinter ran splendid times and even became the first African to win an Olympic gold in the 200m when he beat Bednarek and Noah Lyles to second and third-pace respectively. He also anchored Botswana’s 4x400m relay team to a silver medal.

The former world under-20 100m and 200m champion rounded up his season with a second-place finish behind Kenny Bednarek at the Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels.

“Go to war with your limits every damn day,” Tebogo shared on X.

Now focusing on 2025, there is a lot he wants to achieve from the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan to the Diamond League Meetings and achieving personal best times.

At the World Championships, Tebogo hopes to go one place better in the 100m and 200m. In 2023 in Budapest, he finished second behind Noah Lyles in the 100m and later third in the 200m.

He will also be eyeing the coveted Diamond trophy that he narrowly missed in 2024 following his second-place finish. From the times he has been running, Usain Bolt’s world record might also be in danger but that’s a story for another day.
