Letsile Tebogo has revealed more targets following his dominant victory at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne.
Letsile Tebogo stormed to victory in the men’s 200m at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne and he is not stopping at that.
Tebogo clocked a stunning 19.64 seconds ahead of Erriyon Knighton who came in second, clocking 19.78s to cross the finish line. Fred Kerley completed the podium in a season-best time of 19.86. In a post-race interview, the newly-crowned Olympic champion noted that he does not want his Olympics exploits to get into his head as he looks to continue the winning streak.
At the Paris Olympics, the world 100m silver medallist became the first African to win an Olympic gold medal in the men’s 200m final. He crossed the finish line ahead of Kenny Bednarek and Noah Lyles who finished second and third respectively.

Letsile Tebogo lists one condition he needs fulfilled before adding 400m to his repertoire
Tebogo helped Botswana clinch silver in the 4 by 400m relay at the Olympic games, but has yet to officially compete in an individual 400m event at a major championship.

“It was a great race for me here today in Lausanne, to be able to return here the following year is very cool to me. I think the most important thing for me is that even after such achievements like the ones I did at the Olympics, at the end of the day you just have to keep running to maintain the form throughout the season. So that being done here in athletissima, I´m satisfied,” Tebogo said.
He added that after his 200m exploits, going forward to win a silver medal for the men’s 4x400m relay race at the Olympics shocked many people.
The Botswanan youngster noted that people were surprised at how he could have managed to win the 200m in an African record time and chase Rai Benjamin in the anchor leg to the finish line of the men’s 4x400m relay.

Noah Lyles has put all his 200m rivals including Letsile Tebogo on notice as he made a bold prediction ahead of the L.A. 2028 Olympic Games.
“Everybody was shocked at the 4x400m the following day. That’s the only crazy thing I can think of. I got calls, I got everything about it like, ‘How could you do something like that? How do you run an African record yesterday and then the following day you still split the fastest time?’ It was really crazy,” he added.
