Letsile Tebogo was handed his first season's loss after Courtney Lindsey blazed to victory in a blistering Personal Best (PB) and World Lead of 19.71s (-1.5) at the Kip Keino Classic.
The American new speedster on the block had a fast start and came out of the curve first, enough to hold off the Botswanan and cross the finish line ahead, despite both clocking the same time.
More astonishing about Lindsey's performance was that it was just his second 200m race of the season, so storming to a new PB for a memorable victory over a world-renowned sprinter has now made the track world be on alert of him being a worthy challenger this season.
Having arrived in Kenya with a world-leading time of 19.88s and lowered it by such jaw-dropping time to smash his previous PB of 19.85s, the 25-year-old surely means serious business in the Olympic year.

Meanwhile, Tebogo, who has had a magnificent start to the 2024 season after breaking the 300m World Record, clocked a then 400m world lead of 44.29s and became the first sprinter to go sub-20s (19.95s) this year, now knows there are more talents ready to supersede him on any race day.
