The unending rewards and gifts for Letsile Tebogo currently makes him arguably the youngest-richest person in Botswana.

The Paris Olympic success of Letsile Tebogo has been honoured with various monetary gifts and rewards to the extent he can arguably be considered the youngest-richest person in Botswana.

Tebogo blazed his way to Olympic history books by becoming the first African and Botswanan to win a major sprint event after claiming the 200m title in a new African Record (AR) of 19.46s, finishing ahead of Kenny Bednarek and Noah Lyles who clocked 19.62s and 19.70s respectively.

In addition, the 21-year-old anchored Botswana's 4x400m relay team to a silver medal in another AR as Team USA claimed the win in a new Olympic Record.

Following his historic exploits in Paris, more than 30,000 fans welcomed Tebogo and the rest of the Olympic team on their Paris success, and he has been honoured with groundbreaking monetary gifts, diamonds, houses, as well as some pregnant cattle.

Here's a breakdown of Tebogo's rewards by Botswana's government officials and citizens.

  • Letsile Tebogo got two houses worth $300,000.
  • Choppies gifted Team Botswana $183,721 - Tebogo got $112,482, Olympic Silver Medalists were rewarded $11,248 each, and $18,747 for Coaching Staff.
  • Debswana, DTCB and Debeers gifted Team Botswana $80,987. Each Athlete and Coaching Staff will receive $4,500 each.
  • Orange gave them $52,491
  • Botswana Defense Force gave them $43,118
  • Ministry of Youth and Sports gave them $149,976
  • Tebogo received $3,749 from Kwa Nokeng Oil, a tractor, and $8,998 from Park 27.
  • Minister Eric Molale gave them 23 Pregnant cattle President Masisi
  • Vice President Tsogwane and MPS all donated $1,874, $800, and $4,724 respectively.

In addition, Tebogo and all Botswana team athletes were gifted a polished diamond and $4,500.

Top restaurant Park27 pledged a sponsorship of $750 per month for the next year to fund his athletics preparations. Gold medallists in Paris were rewarded $75,000, silver attracting $37,500, while bronze medallists took home $18,750. Finalists also received $1,875 each.
