Former National Olympic Committee of Kenya president and legendary athlete Kipchoge Keino is involved in a land dispute in a farm he is said to have bought from the late Kipkorom Kemboi.
The piece of land, dubbed kazi mingi is 196 acres and the family of the late Kemboi insists that Keino is not the rightful owner of the whole piece of land. According to reports by Citizen TV, the piece of land was sold to Keino in the 1970s and he has been in charge of it since then.

The other family, however, argues that the court allowed them to have a share of the piece of land after being in court for close to 30 years. The brother to the late Kemboi, Paul Melly, attested that his late brother and Keino were good friends but had issues during the payment of the piece of land.
Keino and his family remain reluctant about the case and have insisted that the other family is invading their privacy. Keino said: “We don’t want to lie and we are waiting for justice to be served. It’s all about the money I paid and who I bought the land from.”
Keino’s son, Bill Choge also came to the rescue of his father and noted that the case is ongoing and it’s supposed to be heard on October 28 at the High Court.
