Paris Olympic triple champion Gabby Thomas revealed her motivation to succeed, which extends more than breaking records.
American sprint queen Gabby Thomas has a bigger motivation that drives her to success, which isn't labeled on breaking late Florence Griffith-Joyner's 200m World Record of 21.34s.
Thomas was named athletics golden girl of the Paris Olympics after she raised her profile on the track considerably by capturing gold medals in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relays ― a marked improvement over her bronze in the 200m and silver in the 4x100m at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
Following her iconic Olympic exploits, the 27-year-old is among the six exceptional nominees for the World Athletics Female Track Athlete of the Year - her first-ever career global nomination.

Track Athlete of the Year: Julien Alfred, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, and Faith Kipyegon make tough women's list
The nominees for the World Athletics Women's Athlete of the Year has been announced, featuring Julien Alfred, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, and Faith Kipyegon.
She's currently one of the world's best athletes and is highly rated to build on this momentum in the next few years, which may see her break the long-standing women's 200m WR that has stood for 36 years.
Interestingly, Thomas doesn't believe in breaking records as what motivates her but the pursuit to add to her legacy.
In an exclusive interview with huffpost.com, when asked what it would take to break the elusive record, she said: “I think chasing records in our sport is one of the mistakes that you can truly make.”
