Kenyan Olympian Koitatoi Kidali lands full athletics scholarship at prestigious American university

Kenyan Olympian Koitatoi Kidali has secured full athletics scholarship in the U.S. after competing in the 800m at the Paris Olympics.

Kenya’s Koitatoi Kidali has landed a full athletics scholarship at the prestigious Orgon University.

The 21-year-old athlete, who made his Olympic debut at the Paris Games, has shown exceptional promise on the international stage, culminating in this latest academic and athletic opportunity in the United States.

Kidali’s journey to Orgon University comes on the heels of a rigorous season that saw him compete fiercely on the global circuit.

Despite being eliminated in the repechage heat of the 800m event at the Paris Olympics, his performance did not go unnoticed.

Reflecting on his Olympic experience Kidali expressed gratitude and satisfaction with his performance.

"I thank God for the opportunity to compete at the Paris Olympics. I am satisfied with what I managed to achieve considering it was my first time as an Olympian. It is something for which I worked hard,” he said upon his return to Kenya as per Capital Sports.

Before the Olympics Kidali’s season was marked by notable achievements and learning experiences.

He opened the year with a victory at the third Athletics Kenya weekend meet, followed by a commendable performance at the trials for the African Games, where he finished fifth.

Seeking to broaden his horizons and gain further experience, Kidali then competed in Europe securing a second-place finish at the Meeting Jaén Paraiso Interior in Spain and rounding out the podium at Anhalt 2024 in Germany.

These international competitions served not only to enhance his skills but also to prepare him for the challenges of the Olympic arena.
