Omanyala, who was in Heat Two, put up a good fight starting out from the blocks in a steady way and comfortably raced to the finish line and clocked 9.97.
World 1500m silver medallist Gudaf Tsegay outclassed defending champion Letesenbet Gidey to take top honours in the highly contested race.
There was drama at the finish line as pre-race favourite Sifa Hassan who was on course for victory tripped and fell just meters to the tape and ended up finishing 11th.

ATHLETICS Faith Kipyegon among Kenyan trio to punch semis 1500m ticket in Budapest
Kipyegon looked comfortable, as she led from gun to tape and crossed the finish line in 4:02.62.
Tsegay clocked 31:27.18 to cut the tape ahead of Gidey who clocked 31:28.16. Another Ethiopian, Ejgayehu Taye finished third after clocking a time of 31:28.31.
Kimais was the first Kenyan to cut the tape after she finished fourth in 31:32.19. Ngetich followed closely as she finished sixth in 31:34.83 as Loibach faded to finish a disappointing ninth in 31:38.17.
The Kenyans had put up a good fight to keep up with the Ethiopians but teamwork saved the day for their opponents and that eventually bore good fruit.
