The continental showpiece is set to take place in Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet counties from October 9-13.

Kenya will be represented by 42 cyclists at this year's African Road Cycling Championship, with top cyclist Nancy Akinyi Debe serving as the Team Kenya captain.

Uasin Gishu, Nandi, and Elgeyo Marakwet counties have all been prepared for the continental showpiece.

The championship is expected to attract over 20 countries, featuring a strong lineup led by Eritrean Tour de France Green Jersey champion Biniam Girmay.

Kenya Cycling Federation CEO Kelvin Mwangi says all preparations are complete, assuring that the country is ready for the competition.

“The stage is set for the showdown. Everything has been well organised, and excitement is building as we look forward to hosting this prestigious event,” Mwangi told Citizen TV.

The federation's boss further added that the team has been training in Muranga and is eager to compete, expressing confidence in their abilities to secure medals.

“The team has been training in Muranga for some time and they are excited and ready to take on the world. They believe in themselves and this has seen them harvest many medals,” expressed Mwangi.

The CEO emphasised that the event is a significant milestone for Kenyan cycling, indicating a promising future.

“The sport is growing rapidly, and being entrusted with the opportunity to host this championship reflects that we are on the right track, paving the way for even greater achievements.”
