World 800m bronze medallist Keely Hodgkinson cruised through the fastest-ever women's 800m semi-final in European Athletics Championships history to secure her spot in Wednesday night's final in Rome.
The Tokyo Olympic silver medal winner clocked an impressive one minute 58.07 seconds to go through as the fastest qualifier.

Steeplechaser Simon Koech is plotting an Olympic debut as he fights for a slot at the upcoming national trials.
Her stunning performance highlighted her dominance on the track, but it was a mixed day for the British team as her team-mates Erin Wallace and Alex Bell both missed out on places in the final.
"This is way too early for me and less than 24 hours since the last race," said Hodgkinson in an interview with BBC.
"I felt good - I think today I wanted to be a bit more where I was comfortable with on the pace. A couple of the girls were saying thank you afterwards because they got personal best," she added.

While Hodgkinson shone, the British men's 4x100m relay team faced disappointment.
The quartet of CJ Ujah, Jona Efoloko, Richard Kilty, and individual bronze medallist Romell Glave finished eighth and last in their heat, missing out on the final.
"It was horrendous, I don't know what happened. We should never have been running that slow," said Kilty, visibly frustrated by the team's performance.
"That team on paper is a very, very fast team, but something clearly went wrong. It is very disappointing as we wanted to come here and win. We are capable of winning."
