KCB coach Patrick Odhiambo has attributed KCB's brilliant start to the season on one key factor ahead of their clash against Mathare United on Sunday.

KCB head coach Patrick 'Luwowo' Odhiambo has attributed his team’s brilliant start to the 2024/25 Football Kenya Premier League season to the unwavering support of their fans.

As KCB prepares to face Mathare United at Dandora Stadium this Sunday, the league leaders are determined to extend their unbeaten run and build on their commanding lead at the top of the table.

With 17 points from seven matches, KCB currently holds a five-point advantage over their closest rivals. Under Odhiambo’s stewardship, the team has shown formidable form, securing five wins and two draws.

The squad's consistency and resilience have been key to their success, but Odhiambo insists that the fans’ encouragement has played a pivotal role in their campaign.

“Our fans have been incredible since the start of the season, and their support has been immense. We can’t stop appreciating them,” Odhiambo told Citizen TV ahead of their upcoming clash with Mathare United.

This acknowledgment comes as KCB eyes their eighth match, hoping to further assert their position at the top and make a significant statement in their quest to dethrone Gor Mahia, the reigning champions known for their league dominance.

Gor Mahia has been the team to beat in recent years, having set the standard with consistent title-winning campaigns. However, Odhiambo’s KCB side, fueled by passionate fans and a deep desire for glory, aims to disrupt that dominance.

The positive atmosphere generated by their supporters has not only boosted team morale but also created a formidable home advantage that has spurred KCB’s impressive unbeaten streak.

“I am glad so far we have no injuries. The team is intact,” Odhiambo noted, highlighting the importance of maintaining momentum and team health. However, he remains cautious of the challenge posed by Mathare United, who sit eighth with eight points and are eager to test KCB’s mettle.

“Mathare is a good team, and we can’t take them lightly as they are gaining form. My players are prepared and up to the task,” he added.

As KCB continues its pursuit of the league title, Odhiambo’s recognition of the fans’ impact underscores the vital connection between the team and its supporters.
