Bromell is back fully fit after a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury which forced him to miss the Olympics last year.
American sprinting icon Justin Gatlin has expressed unwavering faith in Trayvon Bromell’s ability to bounce back from a challenging stretch of injuries that have kept the 29-year-old from reaching his full potential in recent seasons.
Bromell, a former Team USA teammate of Gatlin, has been grappling with setbacks, including a bone spur in his right foot that required surgery after the 2023 U.S. Championships.
Earlier in May, he pulled up injured during a 10.87-second race in Savona, Italy, sidelining him from competition since. This culminated in Bromell withdrawing from the U.S. Olympic Trials for the Paris 2024 Games.

"Trayvon’s talent lies in his adversity," Gatlin remarked. He pointed to Bromell’s remarkable recovery from the Achilles injury, which saw him return to clock a blistering 9.76 seconds at the 2021 Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi. In the same race, Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala set the African record of 9.77 seconds.
