Kenyan javelin star Julius Yego has lamented on the poor state of health facilities in Kenya, particularly expressing concerns about Nandi County.
The 2015 world javelin champion explained that a number of county governments do not care about the well-being of the society and health remains to be one of the most overlooked sectors.
Julius Yego urged the national government to take up responsibility and look into the issue of health, revealing that some hospitals have for long been neglected and they have no structures to take care of the sick.

“Some county governments are very dysfunctional that the national government should re-look at taking leadership for the remaining years of the term! The Health is the worst hit with some having only building structures with nothing inside, some even have rats hitting fartlek in corridors you will think they have patients too😭,” Julius Yego said in a post on his Facebook page.
“Health sector was a mistake to be devolved function, the citizens are sick and they don’t know where to run to, some are calling the death to take them to rest rather than suffer. It’s very sad 😢.”
His comments come after a young soul sadly lost her life in a sudden turn of events. It is alleged that a hospital in Nandi county watched as the youngster fought the battle to her last breath.
The medical staff who were on duty on the said day failed to show up and this exposed the level of negligence the hospital has. It is also alleged that it is not the first case of negligence from the hospital as many people have lost their lives in the same circumstances.
“I don’t care society 😭😭😭that young soul is lost and gone forever in an hospital bed where we run for medical attention and help, this soul was not assisted in any way and left to die in painful death, the soul fought to survive and see life but wasn’t on a hospital bed infront of medical stuff busy beating stories 😭😭😭Rest well little angel God will do favour to your soul,” Julius Yego said.
