Reigning Olympic champion Julien Alfred is not under the pump to deliver as she heads to the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich where she faces off against teammate Dina Asher-Smith, and Sha'Carri Richardson among other formidable sprinters.
Julien Alfred does not feel any sense of pressure as she gears up for a gruelling task against her teammates Dina Asher-Smith, Sha’Carri Richardson and other formidable 100m runners at the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich on September 5.
Alfred will be lining up for the first time after her Paris Olympics exploits that saw her claim the Olympic 100m title and the 200m silver medal. All eyes will be on the St. Lucien athlete following her recent striking form.
However, she faces a strong cast of women who will be out to seek revenge with some hoping to achieve a podium finish. However, she remains unfazed by the presence of the strong women and insists that she will be out to enjoy herself and see what she can do.

“I don’t feel any pressure, and to be honest, I don’t feel pressure from anybody else if anything, I put pressure on myself to go out there, to execute my own race and to try to come out with the win but I don’t feel the pressure from anybody whatsoever,” Alfred told the media at the press conference ahead of the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich.
In the race, Richardson will be competing for the first time after her Paris Olympics mixed outing. The American sprint queen was a huge favourite to win the race but unfortunately finished second in the women’s 100m.
She proceeded to claim a gold medal for Team USA in the women’s 4x100m relay team. In Zurich, she seeks revenge against Alfred who stunned her at the Olympics.
