St Lucia has decided to celebrate Julien Alfred by naming a national in her honour after she became the country’s first-ever Olympics gold medalist.
Olympics 100m champion Julien Alfred will be celebrated in her country Saint Lucia with a national holiday named in her honour.
September 27 will officially become ‘Julien Alfred Day’ which will be marked to celebrate the sprinter for winning the country’s first-ever Olympics gold medal.
The event will be preceded by days of celebrations, culminating in a free concert on the day of the holiday.
