Olympics 100m hurdles bronze medallist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has explained the unfortunate reason for her decision to pull out of the Silesia Diamond League at the last minute.
Olympics 100m hurdles bronze medallist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has revealed that a calf injury is the reason she pulled out of the Silesia Diamond League on Sunday.
Camacho-Quinn was among the headline acts in the Diamond League meeting in Poland but did not start the race where she was set to renew rivalry with American Masai Russel, who defeated her to win gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Puerto Rican sprinter warmed up ahead of the race but was a no-show, raising questions as to what might have happened.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn bounces back from Olympics setback to win women's 100m hurdles in Lausanne
Days after she said yes to the love of her life, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has extended her hot streak to claim the win in the women's 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne.
“Unfortunately, I had to pull out during warm ups due to issue with my calf, foot/achilles,” Camacho-Quinn posted on Instagram.
“I couldn’t give my all and did not want to risk anything. Season is not finished but taking care of this issue is more important as for now. I must listen to my body. See you all in Zurich.”
In her absence, Jamaican Nugent Acker’s won the race in Silesia after clocking a meet record 12.29 seconds ahead of American Grace Stark (12.37) and Danielle Williams, also from Jamaica, who timed 12.38 for third place.

Camacho-Quinn on the other hand has been in great post-Olympic form and posted an impressive 12.35 to win the race at the Lausanne Diamond League last week.
