Days after she said yes to the love of her life, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has extended her hot streak to claim the win in the women's 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne.

Days after her engagement to her American lover Donald Scott, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has struck a seasons best time to claim top honours in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne.

Camacho-Quinn clocked a stunning 12.35 seconds to cross the finish line ahead of American Grace Stark who finished second in a time of 12.38s. Jamaica's Ackera Nugent completed the podium after clocking 12.38s.

Camacho-Quinn was seeking redemption at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne, after her flop at the Paris Olympic Games. She was racing against a formidable field of Olympians and World Championships finalists but she carried the day after executing the race in style.

Camacho-Quinn headed to the Paris Olympic Games with fingers crossed to defend her title but narrowly lost it to American Masai Russell. The hurdler from Puerto Rico was forced to settle for second place in the race.

On her part, reigning world champion Danielle Williams was also hoping to make an impact, going up the stacked field. Williams finished sixth in the women’s 100m hurdles semifinal and could not proceed to proceed to the final.

She failed to live up to the billing in the Diamond League as she faded to finish a disappointing fifth in 12.53 seconds.

Meanwhile, American Alaysha Johnson was also in the mix after flopping at the Paris Olympic Games. She admitted that it had taken a toll on her and she struggled to process her performance.

“On my way to my first practice since... and I cried all day in the bed about it. Nobody ever tells you how hard it is to pick yourself back up once your dreams don’t come true,” she shared on X.

Johnson finished a disappointing sixth in the Diamond League and has to go back to the drawing board and work on her execution.
