The Jamaican sprint icon and his wife are expecting their third child together, with the model speculating it might be a girl due to her pregnancy symptoms.

Jamaica’s third-fastest man Asafa Powell and his wife, Ghanaian-born Canadian model Alyshia Miller-Powell are expecting their third child together.

Asafa Powell and Alyshia tied the knot in 2019 and the same year, welcomed their first child, Amieke Powell. Their second son, Azhaf Powell was born in 2022.

Alyshia shared a video on The Powells YouTube Channel revealing that she had earlier speculated to have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) due to her period delays but it got worse, and she was tempted to test.

Taking fans through the experience where she shared her raw emotions after finding out the test turned out positive, Alyshia felt the need to do two more tests to be sure about the pregnancy.

“Basically, I’ve been saying I have PCOS so sometimes my period has been extremely late but this time around I have been feeling nauseous, very out of breath, and exhausted and I decided to do a test before to make sure everything’s fine and then go get some blood work,” Alyshia said.

She speculated that it might be a girl due to the feelings she has experienced thus far. Alyshia noted that her face has broken out and she vomits more than her previous pregnancies.

She pointed out that she cannot stand cooking and has to force herself to eat and sometimes, she ends up vomiting all the food she ate.

“I’ve been nauseous and I have to kind of force myself to eat so it’s like smaller portions of food that I’m kind of able to take,” Alyshia added.

“With working out as well, I have to do what I can but I’m still trying to stay active because, at the end of the day, it does help. Right now, I can’t even cook.”

Reacting to the news, Asafa Powell was nervous but noted that he was ready to conquer whatever came his way. “Praise God, the LORD will provide. We are preparing ourselves for sleepless nights,” he said.

The child will be Asafa Powell’s fifth since he also has two children from his past relationships, Avani Powell and Liam Powell.
