The former world indoor champion is making a bold return, sending warnings to Noah Lyles, Letsile Tebogo, and others.

Former world indoor champion Trayvon Bromell has seemingly fired warnings to Noah Lyles, Letsile Tebogo and Co as he eyes a new challenge this season.

Bromell has suffered injury setbacks that slowed him down in 2024 but he has since made significant developments as he eyes a blissful 2025 season.

Firstly, he stopped working with coach Rana Reider in Florida and moved back to Texas where he started working with his former coach Mike Ford. When working with Ford previously, he also used to work as an assistant coach at Baylor University voluntarily.

Following the bold move to go back to his roots, Trayvon Bromell now wants to explore the 200m and he believes once he invests time in it, he will be the one to watch.

In an interview with Citius Magazine, Bromell revealed that during his days as a collegiate athlete, he was lethal in the 200m but did not take it seriously and now that he wants to focus on it, the likes of Noah Lyles and Letsile Tebogo should be wary.

“Being back with coach Ford like I always say, he has been like a father figure to me and man, it’s been great,” Trayvon Bromell said.

“Getting back to the distance and it’s been like I want to start running more 200m’s cause I think I’ve lacked on that side for my whole career.

“I feel like I wasn’t able to show the world what I could do from that side because anybody who knows me from college knows that I didn’t take it seriously and I still ran fast.”

Bromell explained that lately, he has been doing intense training and working more on his 400m technique, revealing it has been tough but worth it.

He pointed out that as the outdoor season starts, the main focus will be on running more 200m and 4x400m relay races and he will only compete in the 100m a few times.

“There’s no reason I shouldn't have been a 19-second runner so getting back into the swing of things with that because everyone knows that Baylor is a 400m school so, I’m not going to lie, I’ve been dying at practice but it’s been a grind,” Trayvon Bromell said.

“I think that’s what I was missing too, being stronger for my top-end perspective. It’s been a whirlwind but moving back it’s been like family so it wasn’t hard.”

He has been vocal about chasing the world indoor title at the global championship in Nanjing, China, a move he believes will pave the way for the outdoor season.

Bromell has already opened his 2025 season, kickstarting it at the Texas Tech Corky Classic where he claimed top honours in the 60m in a time of 6.62 seconds.

He then proceeded to the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix where he won his heat in 6.63 seconds before heading to the final where he finished fifth in 6.64 seconds.

Trayvon Bromell will also be in action at the Millrose Games scheduled for Saturday, February 8 at the Armory in New York City.
