Noah Lyles has shuts down rematch talks after a viral 50m race emphasizing his focus on bigger challenges ahead.

American sprint star Noah Lyles has put to rest speculation about a rematch with popular streamer IShowSpeed following their high-profile 50m race at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The Olympic champion triumphed decisively in the contest, taking home a $100,000 prize, which he donated to his foundation.

Despite IShowSpeed’s spirited effort and claims of a "tie," Lyles has firmly closed the door on running it back with the internet sensation.

In a recent interview during his appearance at the Las Vegas GP, Lyles offered a measured reflection on the race.

"20 per cent. He was giving full effort so you know, kudos for him. I don't [think] of a rematch, I [am] moving on to bigger and better things. You know, let's find somebody faster," Lyles remarked, dismissing the idea of facing IShowSpeed again.

The race, which drew massive attention on social media, began with excitement as IShowSpeed showcased a surprisingly strong start, keeping pace with the world champion in the initial seconds.

However, Lyles’ trademark explosive speed carried him across the finish line comfortably ahead.

While IShowSpeed graciously accepted defeat later, he had initially called for a rematch, suggesting he could potentially best the Olympic gold medalist in another face-off.

Despite the buzz, Lyles appears uninterested in entertaining a second showdown.

Instead, he is focusing on more formidable opponents.

His sights are reportedly set on racing against elite athletes from other sports, including a potential showdown with NFL star Tyreek Hill next year.

Lyles has emphasized that while he enjoys such challenges, they are not for the title of "fastest man in the world."

"But in terms of, you know, running a race, you know, look, man, you got to be serious. Everybody wants to jump up to the top right. Everybody wants to race the fastest man. I didn't grab this title, title because it's easy or because I went the easy route," Lyles said during an appearance on ESPN's Sports Center.

While he’s willing to compete with athletes outside his sport, Lyles views these races as fun exhibitions rather than serious contests for his hard-earned accolades.

IShowSpeed, for his part, has not backed down from his rematch aspirations, energizing his fanbase with bold claims of improvement.

However, it seems unlikely the Olympic champion will entertain such a contest again, preferring to focus on new challenges that align with his athletic and philanthropic goals.
