Dutch track star Femke Bol reflects on her exceptional 2024 season after winning multiple Olympic medals and Diamond League titles.

Olympics women’s 400-meter hurdles gold medalist Femke Bol has taken time to reflect on what has been an extraordinary 2024 track and field season.

After an action-packed year filled with major achievements, including clinching three Olympic medals and defending her Diamond League title, the Dutch athlete is preparing for some well-earned rest.

Bol, who recently concluded her season with a victory at the Diamond League finals in Brussels, shared her thoughts on social media about the whirlwind journey she’s experienced this year.

Her post on Instagram came just a week after her final race of the season, where she secured another Diamond League title in the 400m hurdles, continuing her dominance in the event.

"It’s been an absolutely crazy year full of moments I’ll cherish forever," Bol wrote in her Instagram post.

The 24-year-old expressed gratitude to her team and supporters, reflecting on her path to multiple titles and medals.

"From world indoor champion in a world record to defending our European titles, going sub-51 on the 400 hurdles, to winning 🥇🥈🥉 at the Olympics and finishing it off as Diamond League Trophy winner in Brussels," she added.

Her stellar year began with a powerful performance in the indoor season, where she claimed the 400m World Indoor title, setting a new world record in the process.

This early success laid the foundation for what would become one of the most successful seasons in Bol's career. Her accomplishments peaked during the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she competed in her second Olympic Games.

In Paris, Bol secured a bronze medal in the 400m hurdles, finishing behind American rivals Sydney McLaughlin and Anna Cockrell.

Yet, the Dutch star was not finished as she added two more medals to her collection, winning gold in the 4x400m mixed relay and silver in the women’s 4x400m relay.

Following the Olympics, Bol's momentum did not slow down. She enjoyed a successful European Athletics Championships, where she defended her titles and then turned her attention to the Diamond League circuit.

Victories in Lausanne and Silesia set her up for a triumphant finale at the Diamond League finals in Brussels.

In Brussels, Bol continued her undefeated streak in the 400m hurdles for the 2024 season.

She clocked a winning time of 52.45 seconds, beating Olympic silver medalist Anna Cockrell, who finished in 53.71 seconds, and Jamaica’s Shiann Salmon, who came third with a time of 53.99 seconds.

"The road to all of this has been just as beautiful as the achievements, thanks to my amazing team," Bol added in her Instagram post, acknowledging the support she received throughout her season.

"Now it’s time for some rest, thank you for all the support, see you after holiday."
