Isaac Omurwa has expressed gratitude to his elder brother Ferdinand Omanyala and coach Geoffrey Kimani after achieving another great milestone.
Ferdinand Omanyala’s younger brother Isaac Omurwa has expressed his gratitude to him and their coach Geoffrey Kimani for holding his hand as he made great milestones.
The 19-year-old who will be turning 20 next month took to his X (Twitter) handle to share the great news of donning the Team Kenya jersey once again, but this time around, as a senior athlete.
Omurwa has represented the country at the junior level at the East Africa Under-20 Athletics Championships where he won the 100m.

He then competed at the African Under-20 Championships where he finished sixth in the 100m final and finished fourth in the 200m semifinal.

In the post, Omurwa said: “Wearing my national colours again but in another stage. SENIOR STAGE. To me, that is a step and a great improvement. Much appreciation to my coach @GeoffKimani and bro @Ferdiomanyala.”
Meanwhile, recently his coach Kimani also expressed his excitement about the shape the youngster is taking. Kimani took charge of the youngster late last year and so far, he has noted great improvements in the 19-year-old.
In a post on his X (Twitter) handle, he said: “The Young Gun... 19-year-old @omurwa_isaac carving his own niche, joined the program this season with a personal best of 10.50 secs in the 100m dash... ...halfway through, we are on a new PB 10.35secs!”
At 19, Omurwa has been competing with the senior athletes so far this season and he is slowly following in the footsteps of his elder brother. He started his 2024 season campaign at the second Athletics Kenya weekend meet held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex where he finished an impressive fourth, stopping the clock at 10.61.
Omurwa also competed at the third AK weekend meet at the Nyayo National Stadium, finishing third in the 100m where he clocked 10.36 to cross the finish line. The youngster was hoping to make the cut to the African Games but narrowly missed after finishing fourth in 10.38 during the national trials held at the Nyayo National Stadium.
