Usain Bolt proudly supports his godson NJ Junior Walker as the young athlete excels in football.

Multiple Olympic champion Usain Bolt continues to make headlines not only for his unparalleled achievements on the track but also for his unwavering support of the next generation.

Though Bolt retired from competitive sprinting in 2017, his impact in sports and mentorship is far from over.

The world-record holder in both the 100m and 200m dashes has shifted his attention to nurturing young talent, most notably his godson, Nugent "NJ Junior" Walker, who is quickly emerging as a football star.

As NJ Junior, now a budding young athlete, carves out his own path, Bolt is there to celebrate his godson's achievements, both big and small.

“Proud of my godson #NJJ. 5th in finals at Prep School championship,” Bolt posted last year in 2023, marking NJ Junior's impressive finish in the school championships in Jamaica.

Even then, Bolt’s pride was clear, and his encouragement has only grown stronger as his godson continues to make waves in youth football.

On October 22, 2024, Bolt once again showered praise on NJ Junior, this time after a standout performance at the Junior Cup in the Lamman’s Brings tournament.

Bolt shared an Instagram story celebrating the historic win, featuring NJ Junior and his team.

In his typical understated style, Bolt simply captioned the story with a heartfelt “Congrats,” but the message was loud and clear: Bolt’s support for NJ Junior knows no bounds.

In another post that same day, Bolt shared a clip of NJ Junior scoring two goals during the tournament, highlighting his exceptional talent on the field.

“Don’t play with #99’s left foot,” Bolt proudly wrote, drawing attention to NJ Junior’s skill and composure under pressure.

With Bolt’s own history of thriving in high-stakes situations, it is no surprise that he recognizes and celebrates those same qualities in his godson.

NJ Junior’s journey has not been without its challenges. Born prematurely in 2015, his early life tested the strength of the bond between Bolt and his childhood friend Nugent Walker, NJ Junior’s father.

Throughout it all, Bolt remained a constant source of support for the Walker family, demonstrating that his friendship with NJ Junior’s father is rooted in much more than business.

“While I’m there for him, he’s always there for me,” Walker has said.

Now that relationship has come full circle as Bolt proudly cheers on NJ Junior from the sidelines.
