Elaine Thompson has set the record straight as she seeks to defend her titles ahead of the Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Multiple Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah is a woman on a mission as she seeks to make a resounding comeback at the Olympic Games scheduled for Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11.

The former World champion said: “I can’t be pressured because I’m the PRESSURE. Happy New Year.”

Thompson had quite a rocky 2023 season that saw her part ways with her coach, Shanikie Osbourne and join Jamaican team-mate Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's coach Reynaldo Walcott as she prepares to defend her sprint titles at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

Thompson had been suffering from an injury setback for days and she did not manage to represent her country in an individual event at last year’s World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

She competed in the heats of the 4x100m relay team and propelled her team to the semifinal but did not compete either in the semifinal or final.

However, after a turbulent season, she ended her campaign with very impressive times. She clocked her first sub-11 performance to win the Gala dei Castelli and proceeded to also win the Diamond League Meeting in Brussels.

At the Gala dei Castelli, she clocked 10.92 and proceeded to win the Meeting in Brussels in 10.84. Thompson completed her season with a third-place finish at the Diamond League Meeting final, clocking 10.79 to cross the finish line.
