Following criticisms of spreading misinformation about Champs Jamaica, Noah Lyles has been forced to apologise.
Noah Lyles has been forced to apologise for his misleading ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Championships (widely known as Champs in Jamaica) comment aired during the latest episode of Beyond The Records podcast.
In the podcast, the world's fastest man, made statements regarding the Champs being 'free' for fans to attend, hence the huge turnout of spectators, which ultimately wasn't true.

Noah Lyles believes building a new stadium in the US is the best avenue on restructuring Michael Johnson's highly acclaimed Grand Slam Track League.
After the airing of the podcast, several criticized Lyles for spreading misinformation about Champs. Fortunately, he realized his mistake and shared a video message through the X-handle of Beyond The Records Podcast.
“Today we released a video where we talked about Grand Slam and Boys and Girls Championship in Jamaica, and unfortunately, I did make a comment that provided misinformation," said Lyles.

"I said that Boys and Girls Champs was free to attend, and thankfully the community informed me that is not the case,” he continued.
"It’s just I didn’t fact-check enough, and I’m trying to, you know, grow from this moment.” He promised to keep a strict eye while sharing such updates.
The six-time world champion also apologised in his caption of the video saying: "I'm sorry I spread this misinformation, it was never my job to mislead."
Champs is Jamaica's most cherished athletics championship, where the future generation of athletes is discovered. Top stars such as Yohan Blake, Usain Bolt, Shericka Jackson, etc all had memorable moments and were passed through the prestigious secondary school championship.
