Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo, now more experienced and mature, is set to compete in the Doha Diamond League as he aims for glory in a highly competitive field.
Reigning Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo has been confirmed for the men’s 100m at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha on May 16.
Letsile Tebogo will be making his first appearance in Doha and has exuded confidence about what he expects when he lines up against a strong field.
He revealed that the 2025 season was tough, especially after the loss of his mother and the pressure that came with winning the 200m Olympic gold medal.

Karabo Letebele is embracing his newfound fame after shocking Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, with a stunning victory at the ASA Grand Prix.
However, he has since announced that he is more mature and readier to handle anything that comes his way as he eyes the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan in September.
“I’m excited to race in Doha, my first time competing there. I know the field will be very competitive and I’m looking forward to seeing how I perform,” Letsile Tebogo said as per Diamond League.
“Last year was tough both emotionally and physically but I’m excited to compete and to see how the season develops. It’s going to be a very long season, but I’m more experienced and mature and I’m ready to push my body to its limits and make every moment count.”

Letsile Tebogo has already been confirmed for the Diamond League Meetings in Xiamen and Suzhou and the meeting in Doha will be his third.
His main focus will be on winning the trophy after narrowly missing out on it at the 2024 Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels. Kenny Bednarek claimed the win as Tebogo came in second.

Letsile Tebogo made a name for himself as one of the best sprinters after winning the 200m gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
He became the first African to win a gold medal in the 200m and shattered the African record while winning. The race saw Kenny Bednarek and Noah Lyles finish second and third respectively.
He opened his season with a second-place finish in the 400m at the BAA Track And Field Series 2. The world 100m silver medallist then competed at the ACNW League 6 where he won the 400m. His recent competition was at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 1 where he finished second in the 400m.
