Former world 100m champion Fred Kerley has fired warning shots at Noah Lyles, Kishane Thompson, Letsile Tebogo, Kenny Bednarek and other 100m stars ahead of next season.
The Olympic bronze medallist has high hopes that he will reclaim his world title at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Racing on home soil, Fred Kerley was impressive as he claimed the world title at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
However, he did not enjoy having the title to his name as at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Noah Lyles dethroned him but he has vowed to be back to take what rightfully belongs to him.

Noah Lyles has lauded US teammate Fred Kerley for playing a critical role in preventing Jamaican rival Kishane Thompson from clinching the 100m gold during the Paris 2024 Olympics.
At the Hungarian capital, Fred Kerley finished distant third in the semifinal, but his heat was not the fastest, hence ruling him out of the final via the time standard. He exuded confidence about being ready by the time the 2025 edition of the global showpiece comes, noting that he is on a new level and doing things differently.
“I think it’s going to be better towards Tokyo, I’ll be more prepared, I’m in a new system, the new system is different but I love it,” Fred Kerley told Sports Passion.
He has enjoyed a great season, picking a bronze medal in the hotly contested men’s 100m final at the Paris Olympic Games. Kerley proceeded to strike a season-best time of 19.86 seconds at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne.
