The two-time Olympic silver medallist has disclosed an ambitious plan to do better at the 2028 Olympic Games after failing to get the job done at the Paris Olympic Games.
Two-time Olympic 200m silver medallist Kenny Bednarek has expressed satisfaction with his performance at the Paris Olympic Games but he has set bigger goals ahead of the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
The former world 200m silver medallist explained that he wanted to win the gold medal in the men’s 200m after the flop in the 100m but unfortunately missed, finishing second behind Motswana wunderkind Letsile Tebogo.

Kenny Bednarek reflects on tactical blunder involving Kishane Thompson that dashed his 100m gold hopes in Paris
Bednarek finished seventh in 9.88 in what is perhaps the closest 100m final in Olympics history in Paris last month, but admitted to a tactical blunder during the race that cost him the ultimate price.
Following the narrow disappointment, Bednarek has since made it clear that he will be out to win three gold medals in LA, from the 100m, 200m and the men’s 4x100m relay. At the Paris Olympic Games, Team USA was disqualified for faulty baton exchanges in the race.
The 25-year-old was proud to have shown up when it mattered and being a part of the historic men’s 100m was also a sight to behold for him. He was a bit disappointed to have missed his goals but he has sent a stark warning ahead of the next Olympic Games.
“I’m happy to be back on the podium but LA, that’s mine, I’m getting three gold medals. I did not get the job done. Coach and everybody else told me about how that was the fastest finals in a while. I am happy to be part of history, but the job is not done yet,” Bednarek said.
“I want gold medals, not a 7th place finish. The best thing I do is show up when it counts, no matter what. I am as consistent as can be, and next year, I’m going to get the job done and run faster than what I did in these finals."
However, Bednarek ended the season on a high, beating Tebogo at the Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels in the men’s 200m. Bednarek clocked an impressive 19.67 seconds ahead of Tebogo who stopped the clock in 19.80 seconds. Alexander Ogando rounded up the podium in 19.97 seconds.
