Olympic champion Noah Lyles will be looking to build on his Paris Olympics success in 2025 even as he struggles to back to peak conditions.

Olympic champion Noah Lyles has returned to training after a well-deserved off-season break, but the road back to peak performance is proving to be more challenging than expected.

The 26-year-old sprinter, who won the 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics while also securing a podium finish in the 200m has been hard at work in Las Vegas, focusing on strength and conditioning as he gears up for the 2025 season.

However, in a candid training update, Lyles admitted he’s currently feeling the strain of resuming his rigorous routine.

"Yes sir, that was just like the runs on the second set," Lyles shared in a recent video, reflecting on the toll his workout was taking.

"Got to put more weight on it as we turn it into a workout. I'm starting to feel those lunges when I was going through those box jumps. I increased the weight, and that started hitting hard."

"I caught a cramp, so to say. I'm out of shape. I'm definitely out of shape," he added.

The Olympic champion, known for his explosive power revealed that his gym sessions have included lunges and box jumps, core components for sprinters aiming to maintain speed and strength.

Despite the discomfort, Lyles remains committed to regaining his top form as he prepares to defend his world titles in both the 100m and 200m events in 2025.

As the 2025 season approaches, all eyes will be on Lyles to see if he can overcome these early challenges and continue his reign as one of the fastest men in recent history.
