Richards captioned one of the photos hilariously saying: "Cool kid." Coleman, in a show of appreciation, reacted to this story by sharing on his Instagram story saying: "Im 2nd coolest behind you."

Coleman and Richardson were first seen together at the 2024 USATF Night of Legends, which took place on December 7, in Orlando.

Coleman served an 18 month competition ban from May 2020 to November 2021 due to an anti-doping rule violation in relation to three missed tests. The initial sanction had been for 24 months, but this was later reduced by six months following an appeal.

Richardson on the other hand, was reported to had tested positive for cannabis use following her 100m final at the U.S. Trials, invalidating her win and making her ineligible to compete in the 100m at the Olympics. After successfully completing a counseling program, she accepted a one-month period of ineligibility that began on June 28, 2021.

Both athletes were in the Paris Olympic Games last year. Richardson compensated for her disappointing performance in the 100m by winning gold for the USA 4x100m relay team. She was beaten to the 100m title by Saint. Lucia's finest Julien Alfred. Coleman on the other hand, competed in the men's 4x100m relay but could not achieve a podium finish.
