'Just the two of us' - Multiple Olympic champion Simon Biles on why she will have a quiet Christmas away from her large family
Simon Biles will be supporting husband Jonathan Owens in the NFL matches and won't celebrate the holidays with their large family.
The 27-year-old became the most-decorated US gymnast in Olympic history after winning three golds - in the team event, all-around and vault - and took silver in the floor exercise after losing to her Brazilian rival Rebeca Andrade by the slimmest of margins in the French capital.
However, after being announced as the recipient of SI's honor, the American athlete cast doubt on whether she would give herself a shot at surpassing Čáslavská or even besting Larisa Latynina who has 18 Olympic medals. Biles suggested that after reaching the mountain top following three Olympics, she had nothing left to prove as she hinted she knew to quit while she was ahead.

'I've always been a Simone fan' - Gabby Thomas on her admiration for Simone Biles' mental health advocacy, Paris Olympics achievements
Simone Biles is an 11-time Olympic medalist and one of the greatest gymnast of all time.
"Life and death," she told SI when asked what it would have to signify for her to return to the Olympic stage in LA according to the Daily Mail.
"Because I've accomplished so much, there's almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again and for what? I'm at a point in my career where I'm humble enough to know when to be done," the 27-year-old maintained.
Biles, who has won 23 world champion titles, said even though the decision rests with her, she feels like its time to try something different. "If you go back, you'll be greedy. Those are the consequences. But that's also your decision to decide. What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you're younger, it's like, prom, college. Now it's like starting a family, being away from my husband. What's really worth it?'
