Gabby Thomas expressed admiration for marathon runners and gratitude to New Balance and New York Road Runners for granting her a chance to experience the New York City Marathon.

Gabby Thomas has penned a heartfelt message in awe of all marathon runners as she expressed a hand of gratitude to New Balance and the New York Road Runners for allowing her to be part of the event.

The triple Olympic champion graced the 2024 edition of the New York City Marathon as a Grand Marshal and got a chance to witness new champions being crowned. Gabby Thomas was surprised at how the marathon brought thousands of people together.

She explained how running remains a special thing for her to do since it has taught her about tons of virtues including discipline and resilience. Gabby Thomas also expressed pride in every athlete who showed up and gave their best, competing on the tough course. The race saw Sheila Chepkirui and Abdi Nageeye being crowned the new champions.

“Thank you @newbalance and @nyrr for granting me the opportunity of being Grand Marshal for this year’s @nycmarathon💙. Running is so much more than just a sport- it taught me about discipline, resilience, and finding joy in pushing limits,” Gabby Thomas shared in a tweet on her X handle.

“This marathon brings people together from all backgrounds and communities through the transformative power of running, and I was able to witness that today👏🏽 So proud of everyone who participated today!!”

Meanwhile, Gabby Thomas has seemingly yet to resume training after a successful season that saw her bag three Olympic gold medals. She started her campaign with the 200m gold medal before being part of the Team USA 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams that secured gold too.

The American sprint queen capped off her season with a second-place finish behind Brittany Brown at Alexis Ohanian’s Athlos event. She is certainly plotting for a better outcome next season, planning to add the elusive gold medal in the 200m at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
