Jamaican sprint legend weighs in on who sabotaged Elaine Thompson-Herah's 2024 season
Elaine Thompson-Herah has struggled with injuries and coaching changes, missing key events like the 2023 World Championships and the 2024 Olympics, leading to uncertainty about her comeback strategy and coaching support.
"I try to observe my notes and figure out which instructions will be of the biggest benefit but also try not to overdo or reinvent anything because they are not novices and they have done a lot of great things. So, it's a fine line where I want it to turn to this but I do not want it to turn to that," he told Olympics.com.
Walcott said he hoped the decision to work with both would help inspire the next generation of sprinters. "I still believe that they will be marketed and highlighted in the way they truly deserve because they are not just one of the best but some of the best athletes ever and I hope that gets celebrated,” he added.

British sprint icon Linford Christie on why modern sprinters like Noah Lyles, Kishane Thompson & Co have It 'easier' than past generations
American sprint legend Maurice Greene remains steadfast on his stance over modern sprinters, believing they have it so much 'easier' chances to dominate sprinting nowadays compared to his era.
Thompson-Herah is the first ever female sprinter, and the second after Usain Bolt, to win the sprint double at consecutive Olympics, capturing 100m and 200m gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and defending both titles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She missed the Paris Olympics due to injury.
One of the most enduring track athletes in history, Fraser-Pryce's career spans over a decade and a half, from the late 2000s to the 2020s. Her success on the track, including her consistency at major championships, helped to usher in the golden age of Jamaican sprinting.
In the 100m, her signature event, she is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a five-time world champion. In the 200m, she has won gold and silver at the World Athletics Championships, as well as an Olympic silver medal.
