On his part, Coach Edrick Floreal admitted that watching Julien Alfred fight self-doubt and imposter syndrome to go back to training and work toward achieving Olympic success was proof that she belonged in the chat.
After the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, Julien Alfred had disclosed that she wanted to quit but her coach talked her through it and she was able to go back to training. She admitted to have cried over the phone since she felt a lot of pressure to deliver.
“I’ve seen her grow and become tough at handling stuff that life throws at her and once you get to that point, you can be worthy to be an Olympic champion,” coach Edrick Floreal said.
After the Olympic Games, Julien Alfred was not done with her exploits as she went on to finish second behind Sha’Carri Richardson at the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich.
