Sprint icon Usain Bolt has taken to a new game in his retirement to satisfy his competitive drive.

Legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt and holder of multiple world records, has found a new love that keeps him energized and competitive in retirement.

Since stepping away from the track in 2017 after an illustrious career that included eight Olympic gold medals and multiple world titles, Bolt has turned his attention to a surprising passion in Dominoes.

While many might have expected Bolt to dedicate his post-athletic life to football, a sport he briefly pursued, or music, where he released collaborative projects, it turns out that the high-energy world of dominoes has captured his heart.

In a recent episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, Bolt revealed his enthusiasm for the classic tile-based game that is a staple in Caribbean culture.

"Surprisingly, I don’t know if everybody knows dominoes, but Caribbean people might," Bolt said.

"If you see me playing dominoes, anybody following me on Instagram knows when I play my friends, I get really aggressive. It’s an exciting and very stressful game."

Bolt described the unique rituals that make his games even more thrilling for him while playing with friends back home.

"We usually stand on the table or have a thing we stand on when we know we’re going to win. The key is to get to six without the other players winning a single game. When I’m about to reach six, I get on the table and declare, ‘My bag!’ It’s just something we do," he shared with a laugh.

Dominoes, a game enjoyed globally, involves players matching rectangular tiles with numbered ends. The game requires strategy, concentration, and a bit of luck, qualities that align perfectly with Bolt’s competitive spirit.

For Bolt, dominoes is a way to channel his famous drive and intensity into a game that’s deeply rooted in his culture.
