Nigerian sprinter Favour Ofili has opened up following her loss in the women’s 200m final at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Ofili qualified for the women's 200-meter final after coming first in the heats and second in the quarterfinal behind Julien Alfred.
However, she lost to the USA's Gabby Thomas in the final, ending her hopes of winning an Olympic medal.

Ofili has spoken about the women’s 200m final after narrowly missing out on the podium placement.

The 200-meter track saw the Nigerian in lane nine, next to lane eight was Julien Alfred, who held the gold medal for the 100-meter event.
She tried her hardest to place among the top three, but her time of 22.24 only allowed her to finish in sixth place.

After the race, she shared a post on X, saying, “God's will, not mine. It's been a hard one coming. Tried to be mentally ready regardless of the shocking news I took few days back. I gave it my all from Lane 9.”
The sprinter was devastated that her chances of taking home any medals from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were shattered.
However, despite the disappointment, she still had something positive to take home for her effort at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Ofili set a new record in the women’s 200m race at the Paris 2024 Olympics, becoming the youngest female competitor at the Olympic 200m final.
