Jamaican sprinter Junelle Bromfield has disclosed to fiancee NoahLyles the secret behind Jamaica's elite sprinter.

Jamaican athlete Junelle Bromfield, fiancee to American sprint star Noah Lyles, has shed light on a key training approach in Jamaica that contributes to the country's dominance in short-distance sprinting.

Bromfield shared the insight during a recent training video, where she explained the restrictions placed on young athletes in Jamaica that guide them toward excelling in sprints

"You guys have middle school; we don’t have that. So when we’re 12, we go straight to high school," Bromfield explained to Lyles.

She elaborated that in Jamaica, 12-year-olds compete in class four for females and class three for males with one notable restriction is on distance running.

"The females can’t run anything over 400m when they’re in class four. So, when you’re 12, you can’t run anything over 400," Bromfield said.

This early specialization, she pointed out, builds a foundation for short-distance sprinting, leaving longer distances largely unexplored at the youth level.

Surprised by the revelation, Lyles responded, "That’s why they don’t do any distance."

This behind-the-scenes detail offers an intriguing look at the strategic development of Jamaican sprinters, who have historically dominated global track and field events, particularly in the sprints

However, Bromfield’s candidness has not been without controversy. She has previously faced backlash from some Jamaican fans who accuse her of revealing "insider information" to Lyles, potentially compromising Jamaica’s competitive edge.
