Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge is raring to go for Olympics glory in Paris as he puts final preparations before hitting the road in the men’s marathon later this week.

Double Olympics champion Eliud Kipchoge is itching to hit the road at the Paris Olympics where he is looking for a third marathon title in a row.

The marathon legend has been in training over the last few months tuning up for the event and is inspired by the great performances he has so far witnessed in the French capital so far.

“I’ve been following the Olympic Games over the past few days with great joy. It’s wonderful to see people from all over the world striving to give the best performances of their lifetimes. The atmosphere in Paris looks incredible. Only six days until the big day, I can’t wait,” Kipchoge posted on social media on Sunday.

Kipchoge is bidding to become the first man to claim three straight Olympics titles in marathon and will be joined in Team Kenya by London Marathon winner Alexander Mutiso and Benson Kipruto, the 2024 Tokyo Marathon champion.

Those two, plus the Ethiopian cast, that includes veteran Kenenisa Bekele, will provide great competition for the 39-year-old who is counting on his massive experience.

Kipchoge is also seeking to silence his doubters after a section of fans claimed he was ‘finished’ following his 10th place finish in Tokyo in March, his worst result since his marathon debut 11 years ago.

The men’s marathon will take place on the penultimate day of the Olympics on Saturday, August 10 and Kipchoge has a week to put in the final touches before hitting the road.
