‘I can’t remember’ - Noah Lyles denies knowing Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill after challenging him to a race

Olympic 100m sprint winner Noah Lyles has denied knowing receiver Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins.

Lyles became the first American to win the 100m event in the Olympics since Justin Gatlin in 2004 and finished the competition with two medals.

A few days ago, Hill made a statement that he would defeat Lyles in a race and challenged the 100-meter sprinter.

However, Lyles has responded to his challenge, claiming he does not know who the challenger is.

In an NBC Sports interview (via FinsXtra) on X, Lyles pretended not to know who Hill was when his name was brought up.

Lyles said in the interview, “What’s the cheetah guy from football? Well, I can’t remember his name.”

Reacting to Hill's recent statement on Up & Adams that he would "beat Noah Lyles" in a race, the 100m sprinter dissed the Miami Dolphins star.

Hill also referred to Lyles' admission that he tested positive for COVID-19 following his participation in the 200-meter event at the Olympics.

Hill said, "Noah Lyles can't nothing after what just happened to him. To come out and pretend like he's sick, I feel that's like horseradish."

Lyles solidified his position as the world's fastest man this month by winning the 100-meter dash at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in 9.79 seconds.

However, after winning the 100m, Lyles was expected to win the 200m as well, but he mostly faltered and had to settle for third place behind Letsile Tebogo of Botswana and American Kenny Bednarek.

After the race, he looked tired and needed to be wheeled off the track. Shortly afterwards, Lyles said on the NBC show that he tested positive for COVID-19.
