Athletes embraced Paris's nightlife, with dating apps and local clubs enhancing their Olympic Village experience beyond just sports.

Athletes from around the world gathered in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games showcasing not only their exceptional skills but also their zest for life beyond competition.

With the games having concluded on Sunday tales of the after-hours festivities within the Olympic Village are now coming to light revealing a side of the athletes not seen during the competitions.

Matthew Mitcham, an Australian diver who clinched gold in the 10-meter platform at the 2008 Beijing Games, described the Olympic Village as a "bizarre utopia where everyone is tall, beautiful, and perfect."

According to Mitcham, many athletes were eager to make the most of their time in Paris, seeking experiences that extended well beyond their athletic pursuits.

"The Olympic Village is a smorgasbord. You've got every possible shape and size and ethnicity," Mitcham told News Corp.

"Athletes definitely just wanna bonk athletes," he candidly added, pointing out the natural attraction among competitors.

Dating apps experienced a significant uptick in usage around the Olympic Village with thousands of athletes looking to connect.

Mitcham mentioned that specific measures were taken on platforms like Grindr to prevent non-athletes from accessing competitors' profiles, a move he attributed to the external interest in the athletes.

"That's because of thirsty queens in the outside world desperately trying to bonk an athlete inside the village," Mitcham explained.

The distribution of approximately 200,000 condoms at various points around the village—amounting to 14 for every athlete—underscored the organizers' acknowledgment of the spirited interactions likely to occur.

Additionally, athletes were provided with tubes of lubricant, further facilitating their intimate encounters.

Accounts from previous Games have often spoken of wild celebrations, and Paris was no exception.

The backdrop of one of the world's most romantic cities only amplified the festive atmosphere.

An anonymous sprinter told Daily Mail Australia about the change in behavior once competitions began.

"When you pack 14,500 of the world's fittest athletes into an Olympic village… you can guess what will happen. Before the Games, there's not much bed-hopping. But once competition starts, we go mad for it."

The interactions were not limited to fellow athletes as some competitors were keen to connect with famous non-competitors who had come to Paris to watch the Games.

"Athletes are just as big a star f**kers as everybody else," Mitcham remarked.

Local businesses also sought to capitalize on the influx of visitors.

A Paris strip club known as Secret Square extended an enticing offer to athletes, team members, and journalists covering the Games, offering free entry to anyone with Olympic credentials.

Located 19 kilometers from the athletes' village the venue promised a taste of French striptease contributing to the city's vibrant nightlife.
