Hull, who set the 2000 meter world record this year, as well as the Olympic silver medal in the 1500 meters, has explained how young Austalian athletes can follow in her footsteps.

Paris Olympics 1500m silver medalist Jessica Hull has said her performance in the French Capital should serve as inspiration to Junior athletes in her home country.

The Australian executed to near perfection, by doing enough to challenge for the gold without sacrificing the silver, becoming the first Australian woman in history to win an Olympic medal in the 1500m and inspiring the next generation towards the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

It was a silver in the fastest 1500m final in Olympic history as Faith Kipyegon won her third consecutive title in an Olympic record 3min51. 29sec with Hull producing the second-fastest race of her life (3:52.56sec) while Bell ran a national record (3:52,61sec).

“They have seen an Australian woman win a medal on the world stage now and they can do it too, our juniors are as good as anyone. When the World U20 Championships was on in Lima, I would wake up and be like ‘wait, we won how many medals?’ – it’s so special,” Hull told World Athletics.

Hull, 28, remembered how she and two others went to the 2014 World U20 championships but none  made it to the podium. However, through hard work and the determination to succeed saw all of them medal in Paris.

"Nina Kennedy, Matt Denny and I went to the 2014 World U20s together and none of us won medals. This year we won Olympic gold, silver and bronze between us. These kids are already ahead of where we were, and I hope they truly do believe they can do it too.”

Hull is yet to lay down firm plans for 2025 and beyond, but has indicated she isn't willing to slow down yet.  "There is still room to improve in training and that usually means there is room to improve in a race. There is no way we are tapped out and I haven’t achieved everything I want to achieve yet.”
